CREMATION OPTIONS

Never make or plan all arrangements prior to discussing the process with your Funeral Director.  There are permits to obtain and forms to be filed before services can be performed, as well as other services that may have already been scheduled at the facility or cemetery you wish to use.  Your Funeral Director will guide you through the arrangements, one step at a time.  Together you can decide what services are best for your needs, help with obituaries, filing for insurance policies, as well as terminating social security benefits.

Today nearly 60 percent of all families request cremation. It has become a preference for many because it is simple and less expensive than traditional burial. Cremation allows you to fulfill your loved one's final wishes without spending thousands of dollars. Choosing one of our cremation plans or services guarantees you the same exceptional care and service so many have experienced for traditional burial.  Choosing one of our prearranged plans will generally save you time and money over purchasing from our General Price List.

We now offer the Dignity Memorial® Cremation plans. These plans include:

  • Basic professional services of the funeral director and staff

  • Transportation from the place of death within a 30-mile radius of Grand Junction.

  • Climate controlled sheltering facilities

  • Cremation container made of approved material

  • Crematory fee

  • An Urn for the ashes

  • Keepsake containers and Jewelry items are available as well.

We offer the following Cremation Plans, click on the link below for a full description of each plan:

Legacy Cremation   -   Heritage Cremation   -   Honor Cremation
Tribute Cremation  -  Patriot Cremation

Dignity Memorial® providers believe that each service should be as unique and memorable as the life being honored. Our funeral directors are experienced in orchestrating events and tributes that recognize the importance and value of those who have passed on. Their unique understanding of the grieving process enables them to assist families with empathy and compassion.

  • A release of doves, which are symbols of love, peace and unity. To some, the release of a single dove represents the loved one’s soul ascending into heaven.

  • A butterfly release. Butterflies symbolize a free and happy spirit. Many such releases are of the beautiful and friendly Monarch butterfly.

  • A balloon release*, which some families appreciate because it allows loved ones, particularly children, to participate in the services. *Balloon releases must be conducted in accordance with local regulations.

  • Special music, such as bagpipes or a harp, or a selection of appropriate tunes from your loved one’s favorite artists.

  • Special scattering ceremonies for ashes. Important note: All states allow for the scattering of ashes, but scattering on private property is restricted without the consent of the property owner. Many national and state parks require permits for scattering, and although the U.S. government allows ocean scattering, it can be no closer than three miles from land. You should consult your local authorities regarding the requirements for scattering in your state.

  • Incorporating special elements into the procession, such as a loved one’s favorite motorcycle or car, or perhaps inviting her cycling club to lead the procession.
