Dignity Memorial® network providers offer an extensive array of bereavement resources. Grief management books, videos and brochures are also available. Grief and the way you or a loved one manages it is unique. These brochures and videos offer helpful advice and insights when coping with the complex emotions accompanying the loss of a loved one.

Picking Up The Pieces® is offered by Dignity Memorial network providers throughout North America. Picking Up The Pieces® is a series of free brochures, videotapes and booklets offering helpful advice to families coping with the loss of a loved one. Each individual must deal with grief in his or her own way. Picking Up the Pieces materials offer helpful advice and insights to anyone trying to cope with the complex emotions accompanying such a loss.

24-HOUR COMPASSION HELPLINE

Although we may handle the sorrow and emotional pain in our own way, there are times when counsel from others can help with the healing process.  This is why the Dignity Memorial Compassion Helpline was established.  The caring professional counselors of the Compassion Helpline are available to assist you and your family members through the grieving process.

The Helpline is a service offered exclusively through Dignity Memorial providers, such as Martin Mortuary.  It is a counseling service that is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  It is staffed by licensed professional especially trained in grief counseling.  All counselor's hold advanced doctorate's or master's degrees.

After the service, after all the friends and family have gone home and back to their lives, the Helpline is there available to you.  The Helpline is included in every Dignity Memorial funeral and cremation service plan.

BEREAVEMENT TRAVEL PROGRAM*

The program benefits include:

• 4 members of the immediate family of the deceased are eligible to receive special savings on airfares offered through the program to attend a funeral, memorial, or graveside service.

• If a Dignity Memorial Funeral or Cremation Service Plan is selected, we can extend travel benefits to all family members and friends, as well as make return trips to settle estate matters and family business.

• Significant savings on airline travel across Canada, to and from international destinations, including the US.  These savings may be lower than the standard airline "bereavement" travel fares and have fewer restrictions.

• Assistance from professional travel agents who can help you make travel arrangements.  This service is available 7 days a week from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm Central Standard Time.  A nominal service fee will apply; French speaking travel agents are available Monday through Friday during business hours.

• All airfares ticketed through the Dignity Memorial Travel Desk qualify for frequent flyer program benefits.

In order to take advantage of the discounted airfares offered through the program, you must make your arrangements through the Dignity Memorial Travel Desk.  You will need to tell the agent that you are using the program benefits and provide the following information:

• Name of Funeral Home

• Reference Number  (provided by your Funeral Director)

• Name of the Deceased

• Your Credit Card Information

This information will be provided to you at the time you make your arrangements.  The program is only available to families after their loved has passed.  It cannot be used before the time of passing.

*The Dignity Memorial Bereavement Travel Program may not be available through all airlines.  Certain restrictions may apply.  Travel agents can only accept payment by major credit cards.  Travel services provided through Navigant International.
