SOCIAL SECURITY ASSISTANCE
We will submit the paperwork for terminating
the Social Security benefits being paid to your deceased family
member. It can take 4 to 6 weeks for benefits to cease.
Any funds paid after the date of death must be returned to the
Social Security Administration upon their request.
You will need to take a Certified Death Certificate to the local
Social Security office. They make a copy of the certificate
and return the original to you. You will also be asked for a copy
of your marriage certificate and birth certificate. If you have
