What Social Services benefits are available?

Surviving family members may be eligible for a benefit for funeral and cemetery expenses from the Mesa County Department of Social & Human Services or in the county where the death occurred.  If your loved one was receiving assistance from DHS or DSS they may cover up to $1500.00 of funeral expenses if your loved was over 60 years of age; or up to $1000.00 if under 60 years of age.

We have forms family members can fill out to obtain benefits for those already receiving county benefits.  We cannot sign or fill out this paperwork for you, but we can provide the forms for you to use.
